Pest Control Austin

Thursday, June 18th, 2009

When pests invade your home it’s time to find a trustworthy company that will meet your needs. But, where do you start? It helps to have an idea of what a quality company will do for their clients. Herein are some suggestions for laying the groundwork to questions you can pose to potential contractors and find the best pest control atlanta company near you.

Naturally, the first thing that comes to mind is cost. Is the price of the pest control company you’re considering within your budget? Only you can answer that, but there’s a lot more involved than just the price they quote you. Find out if it covers just the inside, includes retreatments, or if the charge is just for the outside. A good service should charge only for yard and foundation treatments. This shows confidence in their product and techniques in forming a barrier around your home to keep the bugs out.

If the circumstance should arise that an interior treatment is needed it should be offered free of charge on an unlimited basis. It should also be customized to fit the needs of your home and family. But above all, one thing should not be compromised no matter what service you require, no matter which pest control austin you hire – 100% satisfaction guaranteed. For everything.

Another very serious concern is the type of chemicals that will be used. Bugs are not the only ones harsh chemicals are harsh on. With such treatments pets and children can also be harmfully effected. Inquire after what type of chemicals will be used by your chosen pest control company. Specifically ask if it comes with a warning label. You might want to move on to the next prospect if it does. Find a pest control service that only uses the finest, cleanest, and most effective products available. You’re calling the exterminator to ease your worries, not add to them. Not to mention, the cleaner the product, the better it is for the environment.

And last but not least – scheduling. A company that puts their clients first is going to make themselves available. This means service the same day you call or, at the very latest, the next day. If it’s more convenient for you to wait even later than that, that should be fine too. Regardless, you shouldn’t have to use your vacation time from work to meet with the bug guy. A good business will make themselves available after regular work hours, not to mention having an ‘anti-”no-show” policy. If a technician doesn’t arrive within the scheduled time frame without calling prior to reschedule the service should no longer be charged. That’s right, it should be free. Find a pest control company that meets your criteria and give them the chance to earn your trust.

Furniture Inspired By Science

Thursday, April 16th, 2009

Often I wonder about mysteries of science. It’s not that I am a scientist brooding over each and very aspect of science in their own ways. Actually, off late I have come across a magazine where I discovered that even though interior designing and science were considered distant cousins as far as relevancy was concerned, this concept has changed a lot in the last few years. This change has only been brought about by brave and exploring designers who were willing to take the plunge at a price.

The result of their endeavors is the new, sleek and stylish pieces of furniture that have won many a heart of homeowners (me too). While the ‘bone-chair’ is inspired by the wonderful way the bone structure exists and grows within the body bookshelves have also been remodeled, according to the revolving structure of DNA in the human body. Not only this, the ‘Pulse-line shelf’, which can be attached to the wall and provides a combination of glamorous look and an efficient use of space. The exterior outline can be specifically designed to help it glow in the dark, like actual pulse-lines in machines do!

Furniture inspired by science takes into account features like geometry, colors and different shapes to make them more endearing and lively. Having shared with you all that I gained, I have made up my mind to practice scientific lifestyle. What say?

Kitchen Decor

Friday, April 3rd, 2009

Its Friday, weekend again. I’m feeling good, and in a mood to see what else is happening in kitchen design outside our normal kitchen bubble. Let’s see what we can learn, analyze and let’s have some fun.

I personally feel kitchen decoration is important. To start up with, clean up your kitchen of all the oil stains. Place some good wallpapers, pictures of fruits or any other dish go well. Next comes your kitchen tiles. Replace the old kitchen tiles (off course, if your pocket permits). You can take the help of a professional or try out some masonry yourself. Paint up your cabinets and counter tops with some new fresh color, like light brown, beige or something that matches up with your wallpaper. In place of old cabinets rope in a fresh wall shelves. Try out wooden shelves in different colors like beige, glass shelves or some wire mesh. Stools of varied shapes gives the kitchen quite a modern look. Replace your shabby containers, with cost-effective and multipurpose containers. Go green, install a plant on any corner or the house.

All done, make sure the remodeling does not effect the functionality of kitchen. Actually this is exactly what I did last weekend spicing up my kitchen. Since I am done with my – kitchen decoration, it’s time to cook some dishes for weekend party. Bye then…..

Paint your home…..

Tuesday, January 20th, 2009

Just imagine, you enter your house to be greeted by blank walls. Then, you close your eyes and visualize your cozy home splashed in warm colors. Instantly you feel energetic, you will feel relaxed, your tension simply gets immersed in a space full of colors. True, home colors have a profound effect on our mood.

You may splash your bedroom walls with cooler hues of blue, light pink, pastel shades or white. Blue is a soothing color which pleases the eyes. It also has a relaxing and calming effect. While blue evokes tranquility, white is a grand color and gives a royal touch to the overall decor. The kitchen and the dining area is all about food and nourishment. Tomato red splashed on the kitchen walls and celery green in the dining area increases your appetite. Both these colors increase appetite. You may brighten the living room with shades of orange. Orange increases energy and excitement. Gray, golden green, citrons are colors which have a calmer feel to it go and go well for the living area.

At times give vent to your imagination and play with colors. I recently met an artist who is unconventional and a color freak. This guy gets his home interior painted each year. Recently he painted his living room with earthy browns with a dash of wine berry splashed on the walls of the dining area. Teal in the kitchen and bottle green in the bedroom – Wow it looks exotic.
I’m sure you have already decided by now what colors to decorate your home with beds, isn’t it?

Modern home decor

Thursday, November 20th, 2008

Are you still sticking to that “same old” faded living room wall paper? Your home reflects your personality and taste. So, let’s add spark to our boring home. Here are few handy tips to get into the color of modern home decor.

To start with, the most striking factor in your home, is your walls and floor. Paint up your walls. Select walls papers in pastel shades or light floral prints. While floral prints are in vogue pastel shades is an eternal favorite.Colors can however change depending on the season. Warm shades such as green, brown, red, orange or any tones of earthy blushes add to the warmth of the room, cream, beige, and yellow are the favorite colors for the summers.

Match your carpets with the wall paper, or else you can go in for some good dark shades.

Pay attention on your drapes. Bright cheerful drapes add to the beauty of the room. Once again, make sure the designs and colors are not an extreme contrast to your walls.

Adjacent to your walls and floors is your furniture. Though you can hardly make much alteration, you can discard your obsolete piece of wood or plastic and make some new additions. Multipurpose furniture with a modern touch can breathe in the modern trend to your home decor. You can decorate them with multiple covers and accessories, such as cushion, rugs and sculptures .

Whatever is your theme of embellishment; your shack must look cozy and have plenty of internal space. Before the celebrations begin and the turkey is set on the oven, give your home a brand new modern look.

Color Laminated Flooring- adds value to your home décor.

Friday, November 14th, 2008

“It’s hard to damage and simple to care” pointed out Ninja, my interior designer friend. Actually, couple of days back Ninja and I over a cup of coffee had a long discussion on Color Laminated Flooring. Color Laminated Flooring is a hot favorite among many for its contemporary feel besides adding an extra dimension to any room. It can cheer up even the darkest of rooms making it feel brighter cleaner and airier.

You need not have to master the skill of interior decoration to install the correct flooring. Just follow three simple but effective steps to incorporate laminated flooring in your house hold:

1. Require reliable floor

You need a reliable floor which should be strong enough to bear the weight of the laminated floor. Absence of a reliable floor will quickly result in the degradation of the flooring.

2. Apply good quality adhesive solution

The adhesive solution should be properly applied in between the sub floor and the laminated floor. Make sure that the adhesive material should be of good quality otherwise the laminated floor will soon be destroyed.

3. Neatly placement of laminated slabs

The laminated floor should be neatly placed. Precision should be taken while placing the slabs. The slabs should be connected with each other and no space should be left in between.

These steps will definitely add beauty and new look to your house. So the next time you decide to change the flooring of your house, think about the color laminated flooring. Adorn your floor with color laminates and watch your friends gasp “wow”. Now you know why my friend suggested nothing but color laminated flooring!
